Heart of Christmas September 2020!

As you all know Christmas is just around the corner for us card makers, it's definitely the best time to make Christmas cards in September.

(Some may argue if you don't start making Christmas cards in July you're too late) Therefore, I've made a Christmas card and can't wait to share with you!

Christmas card - Merry

I use the stamp set called "Cherish the Season", and you can buy a stamps + dies bundle to save 10%. I also use the "Toile Tidings" Designer Series Paper that's only available in the 2020 mini catalogue.

Finished product :-) Looks intriguing, isn't it?

Once you take off the sleeve it you can see "Merry" diecut :-)

Then pull the tab out of the slot for the sentiment!

AWHT Creative Showcase July 2020 - Colouring Techniques

The Art With Heart Team are back with another Creative Showcase, this time featuring different colouring techniques. The Stampin’ Up! range contains a bevy of functional and effective colouring tools that include Water Painters, Sponge daubbers, The Blends, Watercolouring Pencils, to name a few.

And today I am showcasing the Celebrating Sunflowers bundle with The Blends.

They are alcohol-based colouring markers which give this rich tone and do not streak as easily as water-colouring pens do. They are so easy to blend with other colours to create gradient effects, which also explains why they're one of the most commonly used type of colouring markers in the world.

I love how easy it is to use the Blends, and with the help of the detailed image of the sunflower, I'm able to effortlessly use only the dark and light Daffodil Delight pens to finish the colouring.

I also use dark and light Shaded Bruce pens to colour the leaves in no time. The only fiddly thing is the sentiment, which took me a while to get it straight.

#2 You are The Happy to my Day - using the Country Home stamp set

You won't need much technique at all, just colour the stamped image with The Blends, then fussy cut and adhere it up.

As the Country Home is not a new stamp set, I add the bow of Bumblebree Gingham ribbons to give it a '2020' look.

To be totally honest, both cards are CASED from the catalogue with very slight variations, so anyone can make these!

AWH Blog Hop is Sale-A-Bration | Jan 2020

This is a CASE card from the mini catalogue, with the bundle. I also added this very cool braided burlap trim which can be purchased from the catty.

#2 Aloha (Hello)

Love the coconut stamp! I also fussy cut the flowers and leaves from the free DSP that came with the mini trimmer purchase, thanks to Kate's tip! I use the Coastal Weave 3D embossing folder on velum and use it for the backing of the "Aloha" diecut.

#3 May Your Holiday Be Memorable

Also a semi-CASED card from the caddy! The photo was taken in the evening, so it doesn't have that warm sunny light on it. Love the pineapple die it's so cute <3 p="">

All in all they're very easy to make with the bundle, and you can totally experiment with different Blends (the Stampin' Up blending colouring pens) on the stamped frangipani flowers. They're so cute!

AWHT May Blog Hop | 2019-2010 Catalogue Themes

Hello everyone!

Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative products using supplies from the upcoming 2019 - 2020 annual catalogue. If you would like a copy of the brand new annual catalogue, contact any of the girls on the blog hop and we will get in touch with you.

Now before I start, I just want to say that I'm a big fan of vintage themes, and I'm so glad that there are many vintage and yet still very inspirational style stamps from this catalogue. They are to die for and will surely blow you away if you're a vintage fan too.

In this blog hop I pick one of my favourite bundle, which is called "Magnolia Lane" and is featured right on the catalogue cover! I wouldn't say it's 100% vintage theme, but it's defo got the touch and so easy to make a card within 10 minute.

#1 Thank You card

I make the frame using the one included in the Magolia Memory dies, as well as the Everyday Punch, then emboss it with white ink and use the Layered Leaves 3D embossing folder. It's pretty cool lol.

The flowers are from the Magnolia Land DSP and are all out of fussy cuts. The only stamping required is the "Thanks".

#2 Magnolia box

I cheatby using just the pizza box from the catty, and then the dies in the bundle to make multiple petals, colouring the stigma/filaments and gluing them up. The petals are actually slightly embossed with the dies and they're just gorgeous.

I think maybe it looks a bit boring so I add some cute little flower embellishments, but the afternoon sun is setting so soon and the photo doesn't actually look as good as the first one without the little flowers. and they really don't stand out anyway, despite serving as proof of my effort ha. I realise I should've use something that sparkles, like sequins. It was a wrong effort anyway.

Look at the flower! OMG it's radiant thanks to the sun!

Darling Label Punch Box and Cards

The Darling Label Punch Box from Stampin' Up! , which I hesitated to get due to its un-darling price, but still got it because of the gorgeous box and knowing just by itself costs probably $20 if sold in any store, is actually just as versatile as pleasant to look at.

The beautiful box is well made and reminds me of some of the beautiful Chinese moon cake boxes for the numerous Moon Festivals when I was growing up. It has a plastic tray which is a waste of space but holds every component in place. I think if I craft outside of home, I can probably put in a lot of stuff. but for now I am keeping the strange tray until when it happens.

And because of the money spent, today I made total of 4 cards, all sized at 4 1/8 square inches.

To start with, I play a lot with the label punch, and compare with what's showing on Pinterest to see what comes together best with it. Not that it's a genius discovery, but I found that the darling punch go well with the Everyday Label Punch, with just a bit of trimming on the length. For patterned paper I use only the "Happiness Blooms" Designer series Paper because I think some of them are really ugly and dated, and I just can't wait to get rid of it all asap. (And to think I have to put up with the In-colours until 2020 is just something I'd rather forget)

So here we go the four cards I made with the Darling Label Punch :-)

I use a lof of velum and ribbons to add some interest to the cards but you can use anything you have.

This can be for any boy's birthday!

AWHT - Occasions Catalogue2019

Hi fellow crafters! I haven't updated my blog for such a long time, I know! At the end of the day, I'm just like any average blogger with a lot going on in life. Blogging is sort of a way of keeping me going with making cards and connect with whoever clicks in by chance. And I do appreciate if anyone stumbles upon my blog, even if just by accident!

Well, I've made quite a few cards already since the occasions catty was released, and sent out a few of them already. But today I would like to focus on this particular stamps and dies bundle:

And here are my interpretations, two very similar cards just with different colour combos. I got the inspiration from the catty itself - what a great source of creativity it is!

I always have issues of not being able to use up the DSPs in the past. Therefore by making two similar cards in style but with slightly different elements from the stamp set and DSP, I'm able to use more elements from the same themed products in one go.

And must I say, I finally found Delightful Dijon slightly more delightful when combining with the right coloursl!!!

AWHT - July Blog Hop | Coloured images

First of all, can I just say I'm so lucky to be part of the blog hop. Some of the team members are incredibly talented, prolific and dedicated, and in contrast, I only blog once a month! It's just an honour to be listed here with them, which I'm so grateful about.
